As a Chihuahua breeder for over 20 years... I have had many fun experiences with this breed. Chihuahuas are funny little dogs, that never cease to amaze me.  For example I have Amber. She has been with me now for over 11 years. Amber has a mind of her own, and it is always changing. We call her our bi-polar Chihuahua. One minute she is your best friend, and the next she will show you her teeth, LOL. There is also not a pen that can hold Amber. She is a professional escape artist. She can climb a 6 ft chain link fence in minutes. Yet, when she wants on the bed with you, she will beg for you to pick her up.  Amber is also a strong Chihuahua that has beat the odds with cancer. Three years ago I had taken her in for a routine exam. I explained to the veterinarian that Amber is wetting all over the house. After some test they determined that Amber had bladder cancer and gave her three months to live.  Well, like I said that was three years ago. This little dog is determined to live, and believe me... she lives life to the fullest. Below is a picture of my Amber. She is not a "show" Chihuahua, but she is a champion in my heart.

 It has been a privilege to raise these little Chihuahua dogs, and to share this joy with others.  My goal in my breeding program is to produce healthy, happy Chihuahua puppies, that will give other people years of happiness.  I had someone call me other day. They had just lost their beloved Chihuahua after living 22 years!

At SunGold Chihuahuas we have created a clean and cozy environment for all our Chihuahuas. We have a doggie door attached to our home, where they can run in and out as they please. When the weather is nice we have outdoor kennel pens, where they can play and sun themselves.
